Community Computers

Community Computers is on a constant look out for old computers, laptops, tablets, and screens – and students to refurbish them. The Computers are then setup up ready for use and donated, both locally and internationally, to those who can’t afford one by themselves.

If you would like to help us find recipients for the computers, please get in touch.

During each semester, the project leads collect computers and parts. During the holidays, we organise one or two events to bring a team together and fix up what we’ve got – and prepare them to be donated to the community.

If you’d like to be involved in helping us fix the computers in an upcoming meet, head over to our facebook group so you can hear about what’s happening.

If you build computers all the time, perfect, but if you’ve never done it before, come and learn! – we’ll show you exactly what you need to know.

If you have computers or parts to donate, here are some of the things we’d love to accept…

  • Working Windows computers (desktops or laptops)
  • LCD Screens
  • Almost working Windows (desktops)
  • Keyboards
  • Mice
  • Basic computer speakers
  • Power cables
  • Internal hard drives & cables
  • Phone to USB connector cables
